Bodaragama ordered the acquittal and discharge of suspects Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra (deceased) yesterday (14) regarding the incident where Pushpika De Silva's crown was forcefully removed and she was assaulted during the 2021 Mrs. Sri Lanka final held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo.Sri Lanka Business

Delivering the order following a five-year-long trial, the Magistrate stated that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges levelled against the defendants beyond a reasonable doubt. During the proceedings, the defence counsel informed the court that the second suspect in the case, Chula Padmendra, has since passed away.
