SriLanka, Sept. 4 -- Bids for the procurement of 250MW/1,000MWh battery energy storage systems across 19 locations in the country were publicly opened today(04) by the National System Operator.

Initial details indicate strong investor interest in the project, with leading investors submitting highly competitive bids that are reportedly lower than those received under the previous tender.

The competitive offers are seen as a positive development for Sri Lanka's efforts to expand battery energy storage capacity and introduce more cost-effective procurement in the electricity sector.
