Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- A complaint has been lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department alleging that Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader and former MP Udaya Gammanpila made statements intended to create religious tensions over the Anuradhapura Sacred City Development Project.

The complaint was filed by Upali Rathnayake, a former national cycling coach and Anuradhapura district activist for the National Intellectual Organisation, and Deepal Thilakarathne, a retired accountant and active member of the Rajarata University Handa organisation.
