Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Chinari Lakmanthi Hettiarachchi, wife of former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, over an alleged attempt to bribe a court official.

She is accused of offering Rs.50,000 to a court office assistant to secure a suspended prison sentence for her husband in a case pending against him at the Colombo High Court (Court No. 11).The suspect produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court was remanded till October 6 .
