Chemmani Phase III excavations resume; skeleton with coin-shaped pendant unearthed
Sri Lanka, June 3 -- Excavation work under the second segment of the third phase of the Chemmani mass grave investigation resumed on Monday (1), following a temporary suspension, with investigators unearthing a human skeletal remains bearing a coin-shaped pendant around the neck.
The third phase of excavations at the Chemmani mass grave site commenced on April 28 and continued for 12 days until May 9, when work was temporarily halted. Excavation activities resumed on Monday under judicial supervision.
