Chamari and Kavisha steer Sri Lanka women to victory
SriLanka, Sept. 19 -- Skipper Chamari Athapaththu scored 63 runs off 37 balls, well supported by an unbeaten 44 off 27 balls from Kavisha Dilhari, as the Sri Lanka women's team registered a comprehensive 86-run win over Malaysia in their Asian Games T20 women's quarter-final match played in Nisshin, Japan, yesterday.
Sri Lankan women decided to bat first, scoring 160 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs, with Skipper Athapaththu leading from the front with a blistering knock of 63 runs, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes. She was involved in an 80-run second-wicket partnership in 53 balls with Hasini Perera, who scored 23 runs off 26 balls.
