Sri Lanka, June 3 -- The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) yesterday officially launched a national awareness campaign themed "Be Scam Proof" to strengthen public awareness and resilience against a rising tide of financial fraud.

Speaking at the launch event at the CBSL premises, Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe highlighted that financial fraud in the country is being driven by a dual challenge, the rise of highly sophisticated digital scams targeting internet-savvy urban populations, and a severe awareness gap regarding legal boundaries that allows illegal schemes to flourish in rural communities.
