Sri Lanka, July 13 -- A cargo ship service will be launched on September 1 between Kankesanturai (KKS) and Nagapattinam, a coastal city in Tamil Nadu, India.
Indsri Ferry Lanka, the Sri Lankan agent of Connect Maritime LLP is initiating this service.
The ship MV Beypore Sultan will carry the goods between KKS and Nagapattinam.
During a discussion with importers held at the Jetwing Hotel in Jaffna on Saturday, Connect Maritime LLP officials said this service would be a boon for traders of the northern region.
They further said that currently the goods imported from India are brought to Colombo from the Chennai Port and transported from Colombo to Jaffna by containers. This results in waste of time and money. By bringing goods from Nagapa...
