Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Justice and National Integration Minister Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara stated that steps are being taken to submit a Cabinet paper regarding the appointment of a committee to look into providing compensation and other relief to the prison officers affected by the clash at the Negombo Prison on July 5 and 6.

The Minister stated that although the Government usually pays compensation when Government officers are affected in such incidents, it was decided to appoint a committee to further consider providing compensation for this specific incident.
