Sri Lanka, March 27 -- British High Commissioner in Colombo Andrew Patrick yesterday visited the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House) and met and interacted with ANCL Chairman Gamini Warushamana, members of the senior management and editors of the Sinhala, Tamil, and English dailies.
His visit to the Daily News editorial was particularly symbolic. As the oldest English daily in Sri Lanka, the paper has recorded the country's history from the time of British colonial times. At the Lake House Media Library and archives Patrick saw photographs and news reports documenting Queen Elizabeth II's historic visits to the country and archived copies of newspapers of yesteryear.
