Sri Lanka, May 4 -- Reports from the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital reveal a concerning incident where the body of a four-year-old boy who died while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a road accident was released from the ward without being referred for a mandatory magisterial inquest.
The oversight came to light during a post-mortem examination at the hospital's Judicial Medical Unit on April 30. The deceased has been identified as S. Enash Weeratunga, a resident of Tharuna Sewa Mawatha, Ginthota.
