Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The body of a student who went missing after drowning in the Agrakanda area in the Lindulla Police Division was recovered yesterday (14) afternoon.
The student went missing on July 13 while bathing in the Agra Oya with a group of others.
The victim has been identified as Paramanathan Kishoth (14), a Grade 10 student of Lindulla Nagasena Saraswathi School and a resident of Bearwell, Milagusena Estate, Lindulla.
Soon after the incident, officers of the Lindulla Police and local residents launched an intensive search operation in the river. Search efforts were unsuccessful because of a strong current that day.
