Sri Lanka, June 5 -- A Bhakthi Gee competition was held at the Hendala Purana Viharaya, Wattala to mark Vesak.

The competition was conducted under the categories of schools, Dhamma schools, and community organisations under the guidance of the chief incumbent of the Hendala Purana Viharaya, Venerable Higgoda Chandima Nayaka Thero. In a gesture to affirm religious harmony, the choir of St. Mary's Church, Nayakakanda, sang a devotional song.

The occasion was attended by Rev Fr. Terrence Bodiyabaduge, Parish Priest of Nayakakanda, students, parents, lay devotees, and clergy.
