Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- Attorney-at-Law Jagath Abeynayaka has written to Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) President Rajeev Amarasuriya, questioning the association's silence over personal attacks on the incumbent Chief Justice amid the ongoing debate over proposed constitutional amendments to extend the retirement age of judges. In the letter, Abeynayaka said certain BASL members, including politicians, had been describing the proposed amendments as a means of extending the Chief Justice's own tenure.France Business Council
