Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) in a letter to the Opposition Leader yesterday requested Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to postpone the BASL's brief to MPs on the proposed extension of retirement age of judges until there could be assured bipartisan participation for the same.Sri Lanka News

The BASL in its letter signed by its President Rajeev Amarasuriya to the Opposition Leader over the latter's invitation of brief Parliamentarians said the Association was hopeful that there would be bipartisan consensus thereby creating an opportunity for the Members of Parliament to better understand and appreciate the concerns of the BASL on this Amendment.
