Bank officer had borrowed millions from women
Sri Lanka, June 8 -- The Horana Court has issued a detention order against the assistant manager arrested in connection with the robbery of Rs.35 million from a State bank in Horana.
Acting Magistrate Kanthi Kannangara authorised a six-day detention order to interrogate the suspect assistant manager and ordered the suspect Security Officer to be remanded in custody until June 11. The robbery took place on June 3 between 2.50 and 2.55 pm. On the orders of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Priyantha Weerasooriya, the investigation was transferred to the Peliyagoda North Crime Division.
