Sri Lanka, Aug. 10 -- The Government has taken action to immediately block access within the country to 122 websites operating illegal online gambling and betting services without a valid licence.

This regulatory measure was implemented by the Gambling Regulatory Authority operating under the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Ministry. Accordingly, the ban on these websites has been executed following an official notification made pursuant to the provisions and powers of the Gambling Regulatory Authority Act, No. 17 of 2025.
