Sri Lanka, April 30 -- Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne stated that a comprehensive audit had been conducted on the financial management of the eighth and ninth Parliaments and the Auditor General will present the report to Parliament within a month. He made these remarks while visiting the Mahanayake Theras of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters.

He noted that the public had a sacred right to know how public funds were utilised in Parliamentary affairs.

Based on this principle, the Auditor General's Department had conducted an audit to investigate the financial management of the country's eighth and ninth Parliaments.
