Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Well-known cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife deposited the remaining Rs. 20 million of the bail sum in the Airbus case at the Fort Magistrate's Court yesterday (07).
De Silva and his wife had posted bail of Rs. 40 million for the wife of Kapila Chandrasena, who died under suspicious circumstances while he was on bail in connection with the corruption scandal involving around USD two million in the purchase of a new fleet of wide-body aircraft for
SriLankan Airlines. The financial irregularity is alleged to have taken place when Chandrasena was the Chief Executive Officer of the airline. Chandrasena was married to De Silva's wife's sister.
