Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Office commuter trains continued to operate on Thursday (17) despite a 48-hour railway strike, with the Railway Department confirming that office trains were running from their scheduled locations to ensure services for commuters.Long Distance Bus & Rail

The strike was called by railway drivers, controllers, station masters and several other unions in protest against administrative actions by the General Manager of Railways. The unions have also demanded the removal of the current Railways General Manager.
