Adverse weather continues for third day
Sri Lanka, May 15 -- More than 3,475 persons from 1,113 families in seven districts have been severely affected with 1,310 people from 489 families placed in eight temporary safety shelters and a total of 88 houses partially damaged in addition to the loss of one life due to the continued turbulent weather with incessant rains causing floods experienced in most parts of the country.
Many parts of the country have been inundated severely due to continuous very heavy rains exceeding 200 mm experienced affecting normal daily activities of people, resulting in closure of schools and road closures constraining vehicular movements and public transport.
