Sri Lanka, May 18 -- Adverse weather conditions continuing across the island have resulted in significant impacts on lives and property, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC). As of 10.00 a.m. today (18), a total of 204 houses in 13 districts have been reported partially damaged due to the prevailing conditions.

The situation has severely affected 5,277 individuals belonging to 1,585 families across 14 districts. Meanwhile, 135 persons from 42 families have been relocated to two temporary safety shelters for protection.
