Sri Lanka, June 23 -- Two separate indictments were served on a former Army soldier alleged to have brutally raped an unmarried trainee paediatric doctor at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. The indictments were served in the presence of North Central Province High Court Judge Indika Attanayake yesterday.

State Counsel of the Anuradhapura High Court Omaya Nagodavithana presented the indictments.

The Attorney General filed the indictments against the accused for harassing and committing a crime against the complainant victim doctor on or around March 10, 2025, within the jurisdiction of the Anuradhapura High Court.
