40 injured after bus plunges into precipice in Diyatalawa
Sri Lanka, June 27 -- Forty people were injured after a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling from Colombo to Badulla veered off the road and plunged into a 20-foot precipice near the Diyatalawa Railway Station early today (27).
Police said the accident occurred at around 12:50 a.m.
The injured were admitted to the Diyatalawa Base Hospital for treatment.
Hospital sources said two of the injured are in serious condition, with one patient transferred to the Badulla Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
