SriLanka, Sept. 24 -- Sarvajana Balaya leader and Parliamentarian Dilith Jayaweera has urged all Members of Parliament to vote according to their conscience on the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, while the Bar Association of Sri Lanka has called upon all political parties in Parliament to allow MPs to speak and vote according to their conscience.

In a letter to MPs today (24), Jayaweera called on them to oppose the proposed amendment, describing it as a critical decision for the country's democratic future. He said MPs should consider their responsibility to the people rather than political considerations when deciding how to vote.
