Sri Lanka, May 18 -- Today (18) marks 17 years since Sri Lanka brought an end to the three-decade long conflict against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

To mark the military victory, the National Victory Day Commemoration will be held tomorrow (19) at the Ranaviru Memorial in Battaramulla under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The ceremony is being organised by the Ranaviru Seva Authority. They further stated that, for the first time, families of fallen war heroes from the Northern and Eastern Provinces are expected to take part in the commemoration.
