Sri Lanka, June 5 -- Showers or thundershowers will occur at times today(05) in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Heavy falls of about 100 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few showers will occur in Anuradhapura district.

Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, Northern and North Central provinces, and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts. Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over other areas of the island.
