Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- Deputy Health Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni stated that the existing Ayurveda Act is completely inadequate to face the challenges currently present in the field of Ayurvedic treatment, and work has consequently commenced to draft a new Ayurveda Act.

He said that public input will also be obtained for this purpose, expressing confidence that everyone in the Ayurveda sector will actively contribute to the endeavour.

The Deputy Minister made these remarks while attending the opening ceremony of several new infrastructure facilities at the Gelioya Ayurvedic Rural Hospital, built by the Central Ayurvedic Department using Central Provincial Council funds.
