Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti stated in Parliament that out of the Rs. 90,000 million allocated for business loans under the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) loan scheme, Rs. 78,000 million has already been disbursed to the public, marking an 81 percent progress rate for the scheme.

Addressing the House yesterday (6) while participating in the debate concerning regulations and orders under the Foreign Exchange Act and a motion under the Public Debt Management Act, he said that this loan scheme was not confined to the Western Province, but has been distributed across all provinces.
