The screening was held as part of the Popular Cinema Festival, organised alongside the celebrations for the 37th Prime Sarasaviya Film Awards, with the main awards ceremony scheduled for September 9.

The strong response from moviegoers turned the screening into a full-house event. Although only one screening had been scheduled, the Platinum Hall quickly filled to capacity, prompting the organisers to open the Superior Hall as crowds continued to arrive.
