Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today (09) that investigations are underway into individuals spreading hate speech through social media, with inquiries being conducted by Computer Crime Investigation Divisions.

The Minister said hate speech circulated through fake social media accounts had targeted not only Muslims but also other communities.

He noted that investigations had not revealed evidence of an organised group specifically targeting Muslims. However, individuals from different communities, both in Sri Lanka and abroad, were creating fake accounts to spread hate speech.Book Beach Resorts
