Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- Sri Lanka faces a more than 90 percent probability of a very strong El Nino condition developing by the end of 2026, the Meteorology Department has warned, referring to the latest global climate forecasts. Director General Ajith Wijemanna said the phenomenon is steadily intensifying, and when compared against El Nino events recorded over the past 75 years since 1950, there is now a near 70 percent probability that this year's effects will exceed the strength of previous incidences.Sri Lanka News
