Sri Lanka, July 10 -- The national launch of the "Ceylon Tea Villages" initiative, a major programme aimed at establishing 500 tea villages to support the future growth of Sri Lanka's tea industry, will be held on July 15.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at 9.00 a.m. near the Hapugastalawa Wewa in Halgolla village, within the Kotmale Divisional Secretariat Division of the Nuwara Eliya District.

This was announced by Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure Samantha Vidyaratne during a media briefing held yesterday (09) at the Department of Government Information.
