Nairobi, May 1 -- The King of the Bamasaba in Uganda has begun a two-day visit to Kenya aimed at strengthening cultural ties and reconnecting communities that share a common heritage across the Kenya-Uganda border.
Umukuka (King) Jude Mike Mudoma is touring Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties this week in an effort to unite the Bukusu community in Kenya with the Bagishu community in Uganda, together known as the Bamasaba.
The King was received by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya at the county headquarters in Kitale on Wednesday during a courtesy call ahead of engagements with local communities. The visit includes meetings with leaders and grassroots interactions designed to reinforce cultural identity.
