Nairobi, April 8 -- For them, it has been like a pilgrimage, returning to the motherland, Africa, and racing at the World Athletics Continental Gold Tour Kip Keino Classic.

Athletics megastars, multiple Olympic and world champions, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce from Jamaica, and Americans Sha'carri Richardson, Tyson Bromell, Justin Gatlin and Fred Kerley have all raced at the Nairobi meet.

Now, yet another American star, triple 2024 Paris Olympic Games gold medallist, Gabby Thomas, is about to engage in her African odyssey, and Kenya features prominently on her itinerary.

Thomas, 29, will race in the Seventh Kip Keino Classic on April 24 at the Nyayo National Stadium, as part of her maiden African tour.
