Sh290m West Pokot bursary corruption case stalls again after third adjournment
Nairobi, May 7 -- The hearing of a high-stakes corruption case involving four senior West Pokot County government officials has once again failed to commence at the Eldoret Law Courts, marking the third consecutive delay.
The officials are accused of the alleged misappropriation of more than Sh290 million in bursary funds.
The officials have filed an urgent application before the Court of Appeal, seeking to suspend the trial until their petition is heard and determined. They argue that their right to a fair hearing was compromised, claiming that earlier court proceedings were conducted in the absence of their legal counsel.
