Nairobi, April 25 -- Seven people died following a head-on collision between two vehicles on the Narok-Mai Mahiu highway on Saturday evening.

The victims were travelling in a minivan from Nairobi towards Narok town when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck in the Nairegia area.

The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital for treatment following the incident, which occurred at around 6.30pm.

The collision involved a Toyota Voxy travelling towards Narok from Mai Mahiu, and a Mercedes Axor trailer, travelling in the opposite direction.
