Nairobi, May 9 -- President William Ruto announced on Saturday that the education budget allocation had grown by over Sh200 billion in the last four years. He praised reforms in the sector and criticised those who do not recognise the positive changes.

According to President Ruto, the budgetary allocation for education has risen from Sh500 billion in 2022 to Sh702 billion in the current financial year.

He added that this figure is expected to rise further to Sh767 billion in the 2026/27 financial year.

"These are not merely figures in a budget. They represent classrooms built, teachers employed, laboratories equipped, opportunities expanded, and dreams made possible for millions of young Kenyans," said President Ruto.
