Nairobi, May 1 -- Conflicting accounts have emerged over the removal of Purity Ngirici as the director and chairperson of Kenya Seed Company, causing confusion in the leadership of the state-owned seed manufacturer.
While National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi is reported to have initiated the removal of Ms Ngirici, she has maintained that she voluntarily exited the company.
In a letter widely circulated on social media, Mr Mbadi is said to have instructed Kenya Seed Company Managing Director Sammy Chepsiror to initiate the process of removing Ms Ngirici from her position.
But when contacted, Mr Chepsiror was noncommittal about the removal, noting that he had also seen the letter circulating on social media.
