Nairobi, May 10 -- When Linda Kawamboka discovered she was pregnant with her first child in 2024, she could not wait to hold her baby. What she did not expect was how lonely the journey would feel, and how hard it would be to find honest answers about pregnancy and motherhood.
The 27-year-old mother of one was excited to learn she was carrying life, and she counted down to the day she would meet her baby. But the journey, she tells Nation, was not a bed of roses.
As an expectant mother, Linda went through experiences she could not understand, and some of them worried her deeply. When she searched for information, she found very little, and what was available was often confusing.
