Nairobi, April 8 -- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner-General Humphrey Wattanga has been ousted, coming just four months before the end of his first term.
The taxman said Wattanga will take leave with immediate effect, suggesting a fallout with the board.
Lilian Nyawanda, the Commissioner of Customs and Border Control, will step in as interim head of KRA.
The changes come amid pressure on KRA to weed out tax evaders and boost revenue through the use of technology.
