Kipyegon wins as Omanyala runs another sub-10 in China
Nairobi, May 16 -- Triple Olympic 1,500m champion, Faith Kipyegon of Kenya, stormed to a world leading in women's 5,000m as Ferdinand Omanyala cracked his fourth sub-10 performance over 100m this season at Shanghai Diamond League on Saturday.
Omanyala finished second in the men's 100m race in 9.98 behind South Africa's Gift Leotlela, who chalked his maiden victory in the series in 9.97.
The 32-year-old Kipyegon, who is a former world record holder in the women's 5,000m, toasted to her 30th Diamond League victory, winning the race in 14 minutes and 24.14 seconds. Kipyegon took control of the race with 1,000m left and held on to win.
