Nairobi, April 26 -- Kenya's distinguished educationist, Prof Raphael Munavu who taught President William Ruto at the University of Nairobi and chaired the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms has died while receiving treatment, throwing the academic fraternity into mourning.

Leaders led by President Ruto joined Kenyans in paying tribute to Prof Munavu, who also served as chairperson of the Konza Technopolis Board of Directors.

President Ruto described his former professor as a "distinguished scholar and steadfast public servant, whose life's work elevated the cause of education and national development."
