Nairobi, April 29 -- The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed allegations that foreigners could have registered as voters in Trans Nzoia County, even as Turkana surpassed its targets in new voters in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise that ended on Tuesday.

Trans Nzoia County has witnessed unease and sharp political exchanges since the start of the mass registration drive, with a section of the political leadership, led by Governor George Natembeya, accusing the electoral body of being pressured to serve partisan interests ahead of the 2027 General Election.
