Nairobi, May 6 -- The High Court has cleared Longisa County Referral Hospital of any blame in the death of a three-year-old girl who died about two years ago after being stung by bees.

Ruth Chepngeno's aunt, Joan Cherotich, alongside lobby groups including the Independent Medico-Legal Unit, had accused the hospital of delaying treatment, leading to the child's suffering and eventual death while being transferred to another facility.

The court heard that Ruth was kept waiting from around 1:30pm to 8:30pm as she writhed in pain.
