Court reprieve for Orwoba in UDA expulsion case
Nairobi, April 14 -- The High Court has declined to suspend a decision that found UDA's expulsion of ex-nominated senator Gloria Orwoba from the party as unprocedural.
While rejecting to grant the order as sought by the party, the court said the political party had failed to demonstrate how it will suffer loss if the order was not granted.
The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal had in August last year faulted the party for expelling Ms Orwoba without affording her an opportunity to sufficiently defend herself.
UDA wanted the decision suspended pending appeal, but the High Court declined to do so.
