Nairobi, April 29 -- The High Court has stopped Football Kenya Federation (FKF) deputy president McDonald Mariga from assuming the role of the president of the football body in an acting capacity.
The orders came barely a day after the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) stopped nine members of the FKF National Executive Committee from implementing resolutions to run the federation under Mariga as the acting president.
The trial judge further ordered Mariga to relinquish the presidential roles of the FKF "in the event he has assumed the duties of Hussein Mohammed, who had allegedly been relieved of his mandate."
The court gave the orders following an application by nominated NEC member Abdullahi Yussuf Ibrahim.
