Wakiso roadworks progressing amid flood concerns
Uganda, April 10 -- At least 44 percent of works on the 6.5-kilometre Kitemu-Kisozi-Naggalabi road stretch in Wakiso district have been completed, engineers have said.
The works are being undertaken by the China Railway Seventh Group Company Limited at a tune of Shs35 billion under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Urban Development Programme-GKMA-UDP.
Contract for the work was signed on February 24, 2025, while the actual paving and upgrading started on May 2, 2025 and is expected to be completed by November, 2, 2026.
Speaking during a site tour by the Wakiso district authorities on Thursday, Construction Engineer and Project Consultant, Mr Peter Alicema Aldo, disclosed that the works are progressing steadily.
