Uganda, April 9 -- The High Court circuit sitting in Kajjansi is set to hear 41 criminal cases over a two-month session, with judicial officials saying the exercise is aimed at improving access to justice while tackling deeper systemic gaps.
Presiding Justice Karoli Ssemogerere said criminal sessions often reflect wider failures in the justice system, particularly delays in handling civil disputes.
"When we come here for criminal sessions, we are dealing with a particular failure, a fault line, but that fault line has other connections. How are we handling civil matters, how are we handling civil matters, how are we handling succession disputes," he said.
