Uganda, May 15 -- It is now 11 years since the infamous Ntungamo final saga that forced the Uganda Cup final between SC Villa and KCCA to be replayed at Namboole Stadium, where Ibrahim Kirya's Jogoos eventually cruised to a 3-0 victory to clinch their ninth Uganda Cup crown.

A lot of water has since passed under the bridge. Villa endured years of inconsistency before finally ending a 20-year wait for the league title in 2024, but with their title pursuit collapsing this season, the record champions have now placed all their eggs in the Stanbic Uganda Cup basket.
